あらすじ・解説
RATS, RATS, RATS!! Hi cutieeees! What a monster week it’s been - for music, for Mel & Sam and we hope you too have also had a glorious week. Let us know in the comments what you’ve been up to!
In this Ratfood, we chat everything Grammys from Doechii’s performance to Beyonce breaking records, Chappell speaking up for artists’ rights, and everything in between! We unpack the pros and cons of sitting in specific genres in music as artists and launch in to a lengthy chat about the ethics and complications that can come with using AI technology in the music and film industry - particularly in relation to actors and artists who are no longer with us. How do we honour them? When does consent come in to the picture? Is an AI music future simply unavoidable?
Mel also shares a cursed story from her week involving an Uber Eats driver, Sammy chats the long-awaited of her long-distance girlfriend Niamh, and the girls chat a little about their musical and the Homegrown gig they performed at this week.
Also darlings! We’re coming to a city near you very soon for live shows and would LOVE to see you there. You can find the links to our upcoming shows in Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide below. We’d love to meet you all to say hi after the show.

Mel & Sam would like to acknowledge that Ratbag is being recorded on Stolen Land.
The original custodians of this land have had a rich history of storytelling for over 65,000 years, and we pay our respects to the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation whose land we are recording Ratbag on.
Treaties were never signed. Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
