    The effort showed up for an 11 am tip off at the Breslin Center for the players, but not the guys in stripes. Kasparas Jakucionis played nine minutes in Illinois 80-78 loss at Michigan State. He earned two fouls in the first three minutes of the first half and four fouls in the first four minutes in the second half.     SORRY MY DOG WAS BARKING AT CERTAIN POINTS.


    It was far and away the worst loss of the season. No. 13 Illinois rode into Saturday morning as winners of five straight and looking to keep it going against a USC team that had beat no one and is projected to finish near the bottom of the Big Ten. The Trojans had other plans as they upset Illinois 82-72 as 14.5 point underdogs. It was their first road win against a ranked opponent in their last 19 tries, dating back to 2010.     In by far the Illini's best game of the season, Illinois upset Oregon 109-77 behind the bench play of Jake Davis and Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn in the first half and the Illini starters in the second half. Illinois struggled to score early but was able to get into the interior and dominate the rebounding game to get a lead, then the shots started falling en route to the blowout victory.
