First, our sixth company Freedom Capital Investments, grew to a team of nine. So here are our most amazing team members. Excluding Flip and Dani, we now have seven team members: Joe, Jody, CJ, Ben, Eric, Della and AJ. We set and achieved our goal of four four acquisitions in our first year of operations and we want to thank our team for their dedication and hard work. We hired a marketing company to help get our message out to a wider audience, to create monthly webinars and question and answer sessions and help build a community for anyone interested in joining in or learning about real estate investing. You can now find us at Instagram @FlipnDaniRobison We also started writing a book that should be finished in 2023. In 2023, we are going to be speaking at many events and doing a podcast tour, where you will be able to hear and see us as we participate in the podcasts of others. Our goal is to share our knowledge and experience and help others become successful in the world of real estate. Dani will also be speaking at a Masterminds group called Racefest in Kentucky. Also coming in 2023 are new liquidity and $100 million funds that we're going to be opening up and to help you meet your goals as an investor. We are transitioning Freedom Through Passive Income into a weekly podcast. The first one debuts January ninth and will include guest speakers. While we will have experts on the new podcasts, we invite you to join us as a guest speaker. If you have invested with us, or if you want to share your story! Finally, on January 1, 2023,So as of tomorrow, January 1, Freedom Capital Investments will have a new name! Our new name is Freedom Family Capital. The reason for this change is that although the previous name aligned with our vision and values, we found another company called Freedom Capital Investments. As you know from watching or listening to us, we are always talking about family and our family includes our investors and employees so we thought the new name was a perfect representation of who we are. Although we will now be called Freedom Family Capital, you can still find us online at www.FreedomCapitalInvestments.com and you will be automatically redirected to our new website.

In today’s episode, what's been happening this past week?

We’re back on location - Flip is back in Florida after spending a week in Arizona. While Dani is staying for one more week.

Update with Dani’s mom - We've gone through the CT and then yesterday was the blood test. So we're hoping that now with this blood test that we can finally schedule her surgery. We’re also celebrating her 80th birthday on January 2 and we’re very excited about it.

Deal updates - We sent out the final wirings and we’re just waiting for the closing documents.

And then Eric, from our team, sent a deal over the day before Christmas. It's a counteroffer on the deal that he's been working on. So it’s very exciting.

Distributions time - We've got the debt fund master notes, our multifamily deals, all getting distributions here in January. We know all the accounting is being done. We have a meeting next Wednesday with the team just to confirm everything that's getting sent out. And it feels really good when we get to send that passive income out. And people get to go, oh, look, it works!

One of the most difficult situations for Dani was bootstrapping FCI, our sixth company, and then losing her executive assistant at the end of 2021. She spent a long time training him and, when he left, I was drowning. It was impossible for her to manage all of the companies and accomplish the annual goals that we had created. But, another member of our team, Jody, began to take on some of the lost responsibilities and we realized she was a star and something great came out of something awful! We started this podcast to share with you after attending a Masterminds session in December 2021 and we are so glad you, our extended family, have joined us on our journey. We enjoyed sharing our experiences with you, including starting a new company in 2022. The final tough thing we want to share about our 2022 was how hard it was to let go of the company after hiring a C.E.O. After building our companies, it was difficult to watch someone else guide them through a challenging year and we are grateful for the dedication of Aaron and all our team members. After so many years of driving our companies, we found that we wanted to be backseat drivers in the car that Aaron was driving and this was a growing experience for us to understand that to grow, we sometimes have to slow down and merge into oncoming traffic instead of hitting the throttle. But we are thankful for the opportunity to learn this lesson of patience and hope to carry it into 2023.

Today, we are going to talk about the good times of 2022. After years of building our family of companies, we hired our C.E.O., Aaron, in 2022. Aaron helped to build a culture that has become the foundation of who we are at the end of the year and helped to lay a path for future growth. Aaron also empowered our team and fostered the cross communication that help our staff grow and be more transparent between entities. We closed on three acquisitions in 2022: a 129 unit property in Mississippi, Serena Gordon, which is a 48 unit property in our backyard and Riverwood, which is a 16 unit property in our backyard. We also developed a relationship with a great partner and are about to close a deal in North Carolina that we can't talk about because it's not closed yet. We also closed on two dispositions in 2022: a 384 unit property which made FCI profitable in its first year of existence, the 8-unit Grimes property and we refinanced the Pine Ridge property. We also started a seventh company, moved to Florida and we are most thankful because we are still here to share with you!

Before we begin today’s episode, we would like to thank Ben Katt, who encouraged us to do our Motivational Monday podcast. At the end of the year, we all look back on what has happened but we should begin looking forward to the new year. Where will we be at the end of 2023? So many of us underestimate what we can do in a year and we need to recognize that every single day, and every single choice, ultimately will change who you are in just 365 short days. One of the changes we made in 2022 was to be more healthy. This is a long journey and, like the Great Wall of China, a new lifestyle is built with the first brick. Making that choice was not easy and it is a long game, but we can see how our choices are adding up, how making a simple choice of buying water and almonds instead of a soda and bag of chips becomes a habit that helps us become healthier. And we are happy that you have joined us in our 2022 journey toward a passive income lifestyle. If you have been listening to us over the past year, you know how our business priorities have shifted from building businesses to generating passive income so we all can live the lifestyle we choose. We have spent quite some time discussing how incremental choices add up over time and you have made that choice to walk alongside us by listening to one episode at a time and now we hope that you look forward to seeing or hearing us as a part of your daily routine.
