Cathie talks about:
✅ The idea of love languages
✅ Why it is so awesome for your health.
✅ How it enhances every human relationship and feeds into a sense of well-being in a virtuous circle, and how a lack of understanding of this mechanism of the human psyche can be devastating when it goes wrong.
✅ How to discern the love languages of those around you - and your own.
✅ A few examples of how to apply this knowledge in a personal and a work context.
Who is Cathie Gregg?
Cathie teaches us how to have a healthy relationship.
My first career was as an Army Officer, training soldiers and officers in a variety of skills including military subjects, languages, presentation techniques and management.
My second career was running a language training business in France, where we now live.
My third career has been to deliver management and leadership training courses, along with team training and customer service courses (including conflict management training and mentoring in a variety of businesses and charities, in UK and France, but mainly in veterinary practices. I like to work in small to medium businesses, where the kind of training I do reflects the values of the leadership perhaps more than in a corporate environment.
Every training course I run contains an element of an idea called the 5 Love Languages, from a book written decades ago by American psychologist and family therapist Gary Chapman. In a business environment, it is applied as "languages of appreciation" , which has been systemised as business training, very successfully by Dr Chapman, working with business consultant Dr Paul White.
With my professional head on I use this training to build teams and to reduce conflicts and toxic atmospheres at work, and to enhance management of personnel to improve performance - it is incredibly effective at increasing productivity, cooperation and reducing staff turn-over. But my private mission is to give people one single, powerful tool to improve ALL their relationships, which I think has a huge effect on health, well-being and resilience. I have seen some wonderful effects after 2 days of training - people talking to their mother or father after years of estrangement, couples deciding not to split up, colleagues who have hated each other becoming friends - and this on a work team-training course! I love the fact that it provides a holistic approach to work AND family and social relationships.

What are the 5 love languages by Dr. Gary Chapman: https://5lovelanguages.com/learn
I run workshops, rather than lecturing and I am very happy to train trainers to do what I do.
I would encourage people to get Gary Chapman's books - he has written a number of versions, for couples, children, teenagers (extremely useful!) application in the workplace, and one specifically for men.
Dr Paul White has a website called appreciationatwork.com, where there are lots of resources for organisations and businesses.
I tailor-make my training to any business, charity or school that I work with, so that it is part training, part consultancy; which I find more effective than a generic package - and we have fun too. There's lots of laughter at our workshops, which opens the heart and mind to change in a remarkable...
