  • F*ck Yeah to Transgressive Auto-Fiction with Christopher Zeischegg
    2024/12/31

Author Chris Zeischegg joins us to talk about his newest book, Creation: On Art and Becoming. Chris' work is semi-autobiographical and heavily influenced by his years working in the sex industry. Longtime collaborator, Luka Fisher, serves as a muse and a thread that weaves Chris' newest collection of short stories and essays together. We discuss the book, Luka's role in both the book and Chris' life, the impact of toxic masculinity on everyone in the sex trade regardless of gender, and the shadow side of porn - all of which appear in Chris' transgressive and visceral writings. Content warning: we discuss the impact of sex work including self harm and suicidal ideation. We encourage you to take care of yourself while listening or ,skipping this week if you need to.

December 17th is recognized as the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers and this week author and advocate, Chanelle Gallant, joins us to break down how violence is amplified through criminalization and how migrant sex workers are most at risk. We cover the moral panic surrounding human trafficking, Chanelle shares the abolitionist perspective on sex work, and we dive into her new book Not Your Rescue Project: Migrant Sex Workers Fighting for Justice, which she co-authored with Elene Lam. We explore the unique ways that oppressive systems intersect to criminalize migrant sex workers and the strange solidarity between progressives and conservatives on the criminalization of sexuality. You can learn more about the book at notyourrescueprojectbook.com

Chanelle Gallant has been fighting the criminalization of sexuality for 25 years, from organizing queer sex parties that were raided by the police to advocating for sex workers internationally. She is the co-author of the book Not Your Rescue Project: Migrant Sex Workers Fighting for Justice, the co-founder of the Migrant Sex Workers Project, SURJ-Toronto and other grassroots racial justice and sex worker organizations. • Re-Release: F*ck Yeah to Queer Cuisine with Chef Kat Mciver
    2024/11/26

What better week to talk about food and the significance of shared communal meals to queer community than the last week of November. We're taking a pause this week and sharing this food episode from earlier this year! No, "Queer Cuisine" is not a euphemism. Chef Kat Mciver joins us and we contemplate the idea that food may mean something special to us as queer people and try to name what makes something "Queer Cuisine." She also helps us unpack our personal (and incredibly different) journeys with food, shares about being a queer woman in toxic kitchen culture, and enlightens us on her cooking philosophy of "waste not, want not" aka using every part of a plant or animal in your cooking (think carrot tops, radish greens and pea tendrils). Stick around 'til the end for an intuitive eating practice and Kat's approach to shopping at a farmer's market.

You can give Kat’s food account a follow HERE.

  • F*ck Yeah to Resistance
    2024/11/19

It's been a wild and heartbreaking couple of weeks for those of us in the fight for queer and trans rights, choice over our reproductive decisions, regulation of corporate greed, dismantling white supremacism, and peace across the world. Sarah and Robin process their grief and rage over the election and plot a way forward with queer community, creative expression, and grounding in pleasure at the center. Showing up for the resistance is going to be exhausting at times, so let's all get resourced and give ourselves permission to step back and recharge when needed. Do not obey in advance. Do not give up. Glad to be in the fight with you all.
