As a Health Promoter, my primary role is to educate and disseminate information to the Hispanic/Latinx population to help mediate healthcare resources and services that otherwise would go unnoticed or not be utilized. I strive to create equity and reduce existing barriers, so our community members have the same opportunities and access as everyone else to live healthier lives.
Description of our organization
ProHealth Care's Hispanic Health Resource Center:
The Hispanic Community Health Resource Center (HHRC) is a Waukesha Memorial Hospital ProHealth Care department. The mission of the HHRC is to collaborate with community organizations to:
Reduce barriers to health care access
Provide primary and secondary prevention
Coordinate case management and advocacy
Build community capacity
HUB Waukesha - Hispanos Unidos para el Bienestar/ Hispanics United for a Better-Wellbeing:
We are a group of non-profit organizations that come together to reduce health barriers and promote the wellness of the Hispanic community through educational events and other resources available to achieve a better quality of life and health.
