このコンテンツについて
In this episode we are talking to three distinguished guests from the New York Public Library - Garfield Swaby, the Vice President of IT; Geniene Jones, The Director of IT Strategy; and Jay Haque, the Senior Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations. The New York Public Library covers Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island and has the most extensive collection of items of any municipal library in the United States.
Libraries nationwide are well-known for loaning books, CDs, and DVDs, and many provide on-site internet access for subscribers. The New York Public Library began providing the means for nearby residents to have internet connectivity from home using a CBRS spectrum-based private LTE network.
In our discussion, we will discuss what prompted the library to offer this new service to the community, how they went about it, and the results they’ve seen.
