このコンテンツについて
At the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in London, researcher Carole Collet is teaching future generations of stylists, architects and designers how to integrate nature into their creative processes.
What if, after centuries of mindlessly exploiting it, the time had finally come to collaborate with the planet? To learn from the ways our environment works rather than commit to destroying it? For the past twenty years, Carole Collet has been studying and raising awareness about the ecological applications of biodesign – an approach to the creation of objects, clothing or even spaces that takes inspiration from what already exists in nature –, and working towards the inclusion of living organisms in our everyday life. How? By making textiles out of fungi, designing a futuristic luxury boutique where algae acts as an air filter, or even imagining genetically-modified plants able to produce fruit as well as lace.
