Episode 105: Is Patrik Laine Long-Term Hab?

  • サマリー

  • In this episode, we discuss...

Alex Carrier has made a significant impact to the Montreal Canadiens. This underrated and under the radar acquisition has paid immediate dividends and gives the Canadiens a lot of flexibility with David Savard and how they approach the NHL Trade Deadline. Can and will this acquisition go down as one of HuGo's best?

At the start of the season, many fans (including us) were saying that the Habs needed veteran players, needed to stabilize the defense, needed a right-hand shot defenseman, quarterback defenseman, needed a top 6 player, etc. They addressed many of those needs with Laine (return from injury), Lane Hutson and Will Carrier. What is the next immediate need or upgrade?

Looking at the present and a little bit into the future, do the Habs have any superstar players? What does the word superstar mean to you?

Currently, Laine is playing at a 52-goal pace. He is definitely an impact player and if he stays healthy, he can still reach that POTENTIAL to be a superstar in the NHL. You can see that because of his name, style of play, and shot, that players keep a keen eye on him during the game. He has one year left beyond this season and will likely cost a "pretty penny." Do we think that he will be a member of the Habs beyond next season?

Will he and can he still be a superstar? Is Patrik Laine a long-term hab?
