Greetings from PG Towers! Join social historian Dr Lee Arnott and TV Producer Dave Moor for a lighthearted look at the world of TV, Film and Popular Culture from yesteryear that has since been considered problematic. This week we cast our Gaze over controversial US film 'Cruising' from 1980. Directed by William Friedkin and starring Al Pacino, the film drew protests during filming from members of the gay community unhappy with the films depiction of the underground leather scene. Were the protests justified? Listen to find out more! AND PLEASE BE AWARE, THIS PODCAST CONTAINS SOME PRETTY EXPLICIT LANGUAGE AND THEMES. IT'S DEFINITELY NOT ONE TO LISTEN TO IN THE CAR WITH THE KIDS!
