Episode 127 - Dr Michael Henderson.
Whilst at the HSRCA Summer Festival I had the opportunity to interview Dr Michael Henderson, a motor sport safety pioneer.
Dr Henderson has a number of safety inventions to his name including the six-point racing harness now widely used in all forms of motor sport. The idea came from aviation as many automotive designs and materials have done in the last 120 years.
Dr Henderson also worked on the Sigma Grand Prix safety design with Pininfarina and Ferrari, with many of the concepts getting into motor sport. He has also worked extensively in road safety all the while enjoying his own racing career and historic cars.
Our interview was with a background of historic racing, so sometimes the cars take centre stage!
