EP32: 'Let's talk about why we hide our childhood trauma and what it's doing to our body'

  • サマリー

  • Hosted by Tanya (The Crazy Woman) with guest Root Cause Therapist Kathryn Askew.

Today we are discussing how as adults we block our childhood trauma and how it later manifests as an illness in the body. This is a topic I have been dreading doing as I am very much future focused and don't like dwelling on the past due to my traumatic childhood.

I may not edit but I always listen to my podcast before I upload. This was a really good chat with Kathryn but I still didn't want to hear about what we were talking about so I have been putting of listening/uploading this episode for around 2 weeks (wow trauma really does affect us).

I am still waiting to have my surgery (crap I know) but at least it gives me time to deal with my issues beforehand. (I highly recommend it to anyone who is about to have weight loss surgery to deal with your demons beforehand, as overeating is a symptom of repressed feelings and it will just come back).

Both myself and kathryn have issues physically due to childhood issues.

(*Disclaimer: This is a live phone call & is un-edited. There may be noises in the background or technical issues. I will most likely swear as well as my guest as I get passionate when I talk. In this episode I do address my childhood trauma, I apologise in advance if it triggers you. Please make sure to get professional help if you are unable to function due to your past trauma*)
