IS LIFE A BURDEN, A BALL AND CHAIN?

.... For many people life is a gift to be lived to the full and enjoyed. While, for some it's a burden seemingly weighed down with commitments, responsibilities and demands that stifle freedom. Yet even that which might be seen as a ball holding you down can also be a stepping stone to make you stronger and more productive. Of course, it all comes down to your outlook, choices and circumstances. Though sometimes it's easier said than done to be positive and strong. Not everybody gets a fair run at life. This is one of those questions Keith and Lee enjoy discussing - if only Keith would stay on track. Lee has some good things to say, so at times, does have to gently steer Keith back to the topic at hand to lead an interesting discussion.

  • KEITH AND LEE REVIEW THE NEWS #2

. On this episode Keith and Lee had planned to review the news from a newspaper. Not the internet, not a smart phone but a good old fashioned newspaper. Both had scanned through to pick out a few headlines and articles to talk about, so were quite prepared. However, when it was time to record the podcast, the newspaper couldn't be found. Not to worry said Keith, I'll go and get today's paper. However, when looking through he noticed there wasn't that much news in it. Well, news that had a broad scope anyway. Next blooper was Lee giving Keith control of the episode as it wasn't too long before he was veering here and there bouncing off whatever took his fancy in the paper along with whatever else popped into his mind. It was fun, lively - and all Lee could do was go along for the ride.

  • IS IT VALID TO EXPECT OTHERS TO MEET YOUR NEEDS?

IS IT VALID TO EXPECT OTHERS TO MEET YOUR EMOTIONAL NEEDS? -

... Keith and Lee love taking on big questions. The fact that they are not experts certainly doesn't stop them. And why should it? Like everyone else, they observe, have opinions, and therefore like to discuss them. Someone said that all men (and women) are philosophers. Hard not to agree with that, as all of us have views and stances concerning life and all its intricacies. It's one of the dimensions of living that makes life interesting. Just ask any poet. This question of looking to others, or another, to meet your emotional needs can be answered many ways. Bob Dylan sang, "I gave her my heart but she wanted my soul," which illustrates how someone in a close relationship may want to drag out of another more than is healthy. Yet, aren't relationships about support and caring for each other, even on an emotional level? Interesting territory to explore. So a little bit more serious from the boys on this episode ... oh until the end.

LIFE WHEN YOU LOSE EVERYTHING -

... What is life like, and how do you keep going when you lose everything? We reply on so much to be someone, be content that life is worth living and to be happy with ourselves. But what do we do when all our support props fall away for some reason? Be that through our own actions, decisions or whatever unplanned circumstances come upon us. It's a very good question to discuss. However, on this episode, Keith and Lee didn't really get around to doing so. They were simply enjoying themselves too much after not recording a DGMS episode for two weeks. With a few jokes and stories from Keith's recent trip, time just slipped away. They did finally land on the topic but only briefly. Which wasn't a bad thing really. The energy between these two was still very much alive making this podcast more a fun episode than a serious one.

    GEN Z WITH ZACK ...

    - Generation gaps can often fuel misunderstanding, or if they sit down and listen to each other, that gap can be closed. Surprisingly when Keith and Lee had the opportunity to do just that with a very young Zack some interesting pearls of observation tumbled forth from him. It's too easy for older folks to look down at the younger ones through what they often perceive as their wisdom gained by many years of living. Whilst there is no need to discard such views, this thinking can be very limiting. Zack certainly lit up this episode with some terrific - and at times humourous comments that both Keith and Lee very much enjoyed.

    LETHAL AND MULLY LIVE

... There are times when the news actually isn't news. Well, at least reported events of opinions that really don't amount to much. But the fact that someone took the time and effort to write it up to fill a newspaper - or media outlet makes it fair game. Certainly not to take any of it too seriously. If there is white noise, then most likely there is also white print. So, Lethal and Mully delved right into the hot topics printed up large in the weekend paper to see if any good could be extracted. Or if they themselves could add some white noise of their own from the white print. And why not? The professional writers can't have all the fun.
