He is Risen: Resurrection Hope
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.” 1 Peter 1:3-4
The word "hope" can mean several things depending on the context in which it is used. Our greatest hope is found in the person and work of Jesus Christ. His resurrection offers us hope for today, tomorrow, and eternity for all who put their faith in Jesus. When we anchor our deepest desires in temporary and fleeting things, our contentment will last only as long as those things are successful. When we hear the hope of the gospel, Jesus’ power over death, and the promise of eternal life that comes with believing in him, we receive an everlasting and unwavering hope.
