We first spoke to Jamie a year ago and this time round things are bigger and even better. We chat about the progress made over the past year as a founder CEO, and focus in on the pressures that accompany a capital raise of over 20 million dollars. • #071 Jim Comer (on Being Kind and Being Correct)
    2021/05/25

Jim is a speechwriter and speech coach, speaker and author and has spoken on presentations skills in 27 states, Canada and Mexico. His clients include CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, candidates for governor of Texas and lieutenant governor of California, and Apollo 13 astronaut Alan Shepard. His work as a communication consultant in California ended suddenly when his father had a massive stroke, and his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Jim found himself an overnight parent at the age of 51. He quit his job, moved back to Texas where he had not lived in more than 30 years, and became an overnight caregiver. A published writer, Jim turned his experiences into a book, When Roles Reverse: A Guide to Parenting Your Parents, that was nominated as Best Non-Fiction Book of 2007 by the Writers’ League of Texas. His keynote, “How to Survive Caregiving with Sanity and a Sense of Humor,” has inspired and entertained audiences throughout America.

  • #070 Best of: Stuart Kime replay
    2021/05/18

With many heading back to work after such a long period of only remote engagement and deeper online presence, we thought it fitting to replay an episode that brought great perspectives on the balance of work and play, along with fresh thought about digital engagement from a digital nomad.

Meet Stuart Kime, who creates, invests, and coaches SaaS startups that power the underpowered. This is a fascinating conversation as Stuart “opens a window” into how he combines his philosophy of play, make, and learn everyday. We touch on how discipline develops habits, why creativity lies on the other side of boredom, how human attention is the next greatest commodity, and why a third of your day should suck!
