In today’s Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla, we continue Psalm 12 with David’s bold prayer: “May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that makes great boasts” (Psalm 12:3–4 ESV). David asks God to bring an end to the power of deceptive and arrogant speech that manipulates, misleads, and destroys. Pastor Balla explains the difference between flattery and encouragement, showing how flattery disguises selfish motives, while boasting reveals hearts that refuse to acknowledge God’s authority. These verses expose the danger of trusting in our own words and remind us that every tongue will one day answer to the Lord. This devotion calls us to examine our own speech, to speak with truth and humility, and to trust in the pure, unfailing Word of God.
