  • HYDRENESIS | Disaster Proof Water & Non-Toxic Farming at Scale | David Antelo | Cultivating Change
    2025/04/23

What would you do if the water was out for more than 3 days?David Antelo is a water technology entrepreneur and the founder of HydrEvolve Inc. and Hydrenesis Inc.https://hydrenesis.comMy guest today is David Antelo, a man I wish I would have known when I was in Asheville, NC for Hurricane Helene. Going through the aftermath of that storm and being without running water for 3 weeks and potable water for 6 shattered my perception of how to be prepared. There was no shortage of water around me, but with no reliable test to tell what was in it after the mudslides and catastrophe, everyone got to wait for private helicopters to fly in bottled water that disappeared the second they touched the ground as a whole city scrambled to get water. This was the turning point in my thought process around water solutions AT SCALE. This is when I stopped thinking about just drinking water (still critical and imperative to healing) and started looking for answers to some of the massive issues with the water supply and what solutions were being used to treat them at the town and home level.I met David through Pure Way Filtration (he mentions Pure Way and Toppen in the podcast, same technology), through my interaction with Owen Boyd last episode on how to get clean water for your whole house. David's focus is on an even larger scope at the community level and at the commercial agriculture level. With over a decade on the front lines of water purification and disaster response, David has engineered and commercialized portable systems that make water independence possible anywhere. The HydroVolt water purification line engineers equipment that require no grid, no constant filter changes, and no expertise. He’s led projects for NGOs, disaster responses, and emergency field hospitals, and holds multiple patents on tech that transforms how we think about clean water and food security. Whether it’s turning polluted sources drinkable on the fly or helping launch microfisheries for local protein production, David’s focus is simple: solve big problems with practical, resilient technology. His passion is to create technology that is cheaper, better, faster, and safer than what's currently out there. He’s building the tools for a future where communities can thrive no matter what’s happening upstream.More episodes: https://www.alexandercorey.com/podcast

  • Healthy, Clean Water for your Whole Home that actually works (it's not what you think) | Owen Boyd
    2025/01/20

In an era of forever chemicals, microplastics, natural disasters, glyphosate, and reverse osmosis, Owen Boyd - inventor behind Toppen Health - shares how to not only protect yourself from water toxicity, but give your body the water it's looking for to function optimally (and what that means).

Custom Water Solutions for Your Whole House:

Many of you will know that I've been immersed in a journey to understand water and its impact on human health for the last few years. With that pursuit and research of thousands of systems came a somber realization of the trade off between contaminant removal and amount of water filtered:

TLDR: I couldn't find a system that could produce healthy water (listen to the episode for what I meant by that) with third party lab testing down to the level I wanted, for a whole house. Really, for more than just a tap at a time.

I stumbled across Pureway Water filtration and Toppen Health on an indeed listing just outside of Asheville, NC in Lake Lure, NC. This came AFTER Hurricane Helene devastated the region, and the water, and caused me to leave my home of 8 years for coastal NC to heal.

I immediately called the owners and started asking questions and for lab testing, because they were filtering right out of Lake Lure. To give you some perspective, every carcinogen and contaminant I know of is in that lake from oil, gas, propane, plastic, sewage, animal/human remains, manufacturing products, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, etc brought from the entire Asheville region post Hurricane Helene

Owen had managed to redesign some NASA tech that he had been using in the medical/dental world to remediate mercury and arsenic contamination, and it was now available in the residential/business sector for the first time in decades.

The part that actually amazed me was that this tech was able to keep minerals, prevent limescale, handle iron, and required no salt, didn't waste any water, actually trapped contaminants, TRAPPED bacteria, cysts, and viruses (no UV filter needed) and required no electricity. All in the footprint that fits in an RV (or even on a boat)

Needless to say, I was amazed and somewhat skeptical until I learned how it worked.

Owen also happens to be working with some other mad water scientists to fix the forever chemical problem and create stable hydrogen water solutions.

  • Always Tired? Re-calibrating the Nervous System with FUNCTIONAL Breath | Griffin Coombs
    2024/08/14

Griffin Coombs runs The North Star Body, an online coaching practice that uses foundational physiology to help people manage their own chronic stress, anxiety, and/or pain. Connect with Griffin Web: https://thenorthstarbody.com IG: https://instagram.com/thenorthstarbody Connect with Alex: https://www.alexandercorey.com Griffin Coombs is a Breath Science Practitioner and movement coach based in Tangier, Morocco. A self-proclaimed "fitness nerd" since 2008, Griffin has explored nearly every corner of the fitness world to some capacity but found himself with chronic back pain, consistently low endurance, and an anxious relationship to exercise. It wasn't until he opened his path of exploration to breath science, biomechanics, and the nervous system that he realized how connected the mind and body are in health, happiness, and performance. In this episode, Griffin Coombs and Alex Corey explore the fundamental aspects of the nervous system that led to Alex's major burnout in 2024 that led him back to breathing when no other health metric was moving the dial on consistent lethargy, lack of energy, and poor sleep. Topics Covered: -The next chapter in Alex's health journey -Fitness through the lens of low self-esteem and shame -When your body doesn't trust you because you're not present -Letting go instead of trying to fix -Polyvagal theory and the functional branches of the nervous system -Trauma and the nervous system -Functional Breathing instead of breathwork -Using breath to come back into your body -Releasing tension -Covering discomfort with stimulants and depressants -Dealing with slowing down in an anxiety driven culture -Re-building capacity using breath and Heart Rate Variability More episodes: https://www.alexandercorey.com/podcast
