The great Roman general Maximus has conquered his final battle against Germanía and is eager to return home to his wife and son; unfortunately, the emperor has other plans and asks him to take over the empire and return it to the people.

Upset by his loss to the throne, the emperor's son Commodus kills his father, and stages a coo, sentencing Maximus and his family to death.

In a turn of fate, Maximus escapes his execution but is sold into slavery as a gladiator. With his prodigious fighting skills, he is quick to earn the people's hearts and the emperor's eye. Will Maximus be able to exact his revenge and free roam, or will the jealous Commodus rule through fear?

With declining viewers and ratings, late-night host Jack Delroy plans to win back his audience with a daring Halloween special. In a gimmick to speak with the devil live on late-night TV, Jack invites a possessed girl rescued from a cult onto his program to spook his fans. Predictably, things begin to go wrong when true evil enters the TV studio.
