We’re excited to bring you another episode live from Singapore at the Edition Hotel, but this time Jaclyn Johnson and Marina Middleton are interviewing an amazing entrepreneur, Jamie Koh, the founder of Brass Lion Distillery and its flagship spirit, the Singapore Dry Gin. Owner of two other legendary bars, the idea of the distillery came to Jamie in 2012 when she found a gap in the market while looking for a spirit crafted in Singapore. There was none! So tune in as Jamie shares her six year journey to create a spirit that can truly encapsulate the heart of Singapore and all the challenges along the way as a passionate entrepreneur. She’ll also dive into what to look for when seeking quality mentors and collaborations, as well as her brand building process and best advice for aspiring business owners looking to thrive!

Jamie Koh Bio:
With 15 years of experience in the F&B industry, predominantly in the spirits world, Jamie’s intimate understanding of the Singaporean palate and cocktail preferences has led her to distill a proudly Singaporean gin. Using her knowledge, Jamie breathes life into Brass Lion Distillery and in doing so, stakes her claim in the innovative drinking landscape. Jamie jumpstarted her independent business career after the successes of her restaurant and bar ventures. Her experience and success over the past decade have not just enabled Jamie to be at the forefront of trends in the Singapore market, but also cultivate insights into what people want. With Brass Lion Distillery, Jamie’s aims are two-fold: to educate both international and local audiences on the art of creating handcrafted spirits, and to diversify the Singaporean market with locally-made spirits. Ultimately, she hopes to elevate the city’s local drinking culture, and in doing so, further affirm Singapore’s thriving bar scene on the global map and build a global spirits brand.
