Episode 73. How To Get Faster.

Oh baby! Fast is fun. I guess that means that faster is funner! So let's talk about how to get to that grammatically problematic place. This episode could have been 4 hours long and still not long enough. Why? Because there is so much that goes into getting faster. We'll discuss all the most essential ingredients to getting faster and we'll set ourselves up to run faster and learn even more about the sport and the training and ourselves. It's a pretty great episode. And we even have a Mindset Minute with mindset performance coach extraordinaire tammie bennett of the show up society. Told fast is fun and faster is funner.

Enjoy the episode and thank you for listening!
    Cheers,
    Coach Bennett

Episode 72. Why We Need To Recover.

You'd think that convincing people to take the time and initiative to do something like recover would be easy. Well, you'd be wrong and you'd be especially wrong if you thought that convincing runners to recover and recover enough would be easy. So, that's why we're doing this episode. I've talked about how to recover before. Now we're going to talk about why we recover. Strike that. Now we're going to talk about why we NEED to recover. And you better believe it when I tell you that this is about running. And this is not about running.

Cheers and thank you for listening!

Episode 71. How To Race Your Best.

Yes, this is about running and this is not about running. But this is definitely about running. And it's also definitely not about running, Doesn't matter if it's a marathon or 5K cross country. Doesn't matter if it's a 10K or a big presentation or an interview or an exam. You can always give your best AND set yourself up to give your best. That's what this episode is all about, It's about YOU. And what YOU can do when you are most wholly you. That's just a really fancy way of me saying when you are at your best you are who you are meant to be.

Episode 69. How To Slow Down Without Slowing Down

This episode is how to take back control... release fast forward... and slow down...without slowing down. If you are a coach, an athlete, a teammate, friend, family or supporter then this episode should help when you or someone you care about feels like this crazy running thing is all moving too fast. Yes, this is about running. And this is not about running.

    Episode 68. Survive and Advance.

September. For me... it was my danger zone. When I coached high school I looked at the month of September with a mixture of excitement and anxiety. Mostly anxiety. It was great to get the team back together in school but I also knew that coming back to school meant so much more stress for the athletes.

The schedules they had all Summer were about to get completely thrown out. Class. Homework. Sickness. Races. Teachers. Classmates. Sickness. Late lunches. Early lunches. Missed breakfasts. Poor sleep. September was hard. And we were supposed to get better while we dealt with all of this?

Everyone has their own September. Could be another month of the year like December or January or June. Could be a danger zone that lasts a week or a day. Sometimes it can feel like all you can do is survive and advance. So, if you can learn how to handle and deal with and get through your own "September" a better way then you will not just survive and advance you will thrive and move forward. That's what I did with my Septembers.

Hope you enjoy this episode and thank you to mindset performance coach extraordinaire tammie bennett of the show up society for another great MIndset Minute.

Cheers and thank you for listening!

Episode 67. How To Make Running Fun (Again).

You do know that running is supposed to be fun... right? This is a big and important episode. That's why I brought the best Coach Bennett to the show! That's right! Coach tammie bennett is back! She's the mindset performance coach that we all know and love and she's back for this most excellent episode. Running is supposed to be fun! Doesn't mean it's always going to be easy. Doesn't mean it's not supposed to be hard and challenging. It just means that running is supposed to be fun. And maybe those hardest and most challenging parts are supposed to be the most fun parts of it all!

When running is fun it means your ending runs wanting to run again and not dreading the next run. It means that you are being a better teammate to yourself. It means you have a better chance at getting better and having fun doing it. So let’s make sure that running is fun (again).

I hope you have fun listening to this episode.

    Cheers,

Episode 66. Suckcess: How To Deal With A Bad Run

Those crap runs. They're going to happen now and again. No way around it. Sometimes you're just going to feel sluggish, out of shape, slow. Sometimes you're going to be bored the entire run. Unmotivated. Uninspired. You name it. Sometimes you're going to know why the run was terrible and other times you're going to be lost when it comes to an explanation for the crappy run you just ran.

    So, what to do?
Well, that's what this episode is all about!

By the end of this show you'll know just how you can look for and find the suckcess in a run that sucks. Believe me, it's there. And sometimes that suckcess can be the most satisfying, substantial, impactful and insightful kind of success.

I hope you love the the episode.
Cheers and thank you for listening!
