Yom Kippur, known in the English as the Day of Atonement was an Old Testament system that provided covering for the people’s sin for the past year. This system failed because people need more than a covering. The good news is when we study this set time through the eyes of Christ, we can see that He fulfilled it, and because of His sacrifice we are washed and cleansed from all of our sin, not just simply covered.
