We did it! We were able to make it through the rest of Jim's career. Although I'm sure we left plenty of stories unspoken. That's how it goes with many of my guests, they remember more stories after they leave the studio.

But I'm grateful to him and to you for continuously coming back and tuning in. I see you! I see the stats climb, the book sales roll in and I want you all to know I'm grateful.

Speaking of downloads, we are currently sitting at 68,602! YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!!

Jim can only take me in small doses, but that''s alright...it means I get to have him over on multiple occasions to get through his career. I've started his book, "Suburban Policing, Cleveland Style" so I know where to quiz him.

Turn this one up, he has at least one more visit on the calendar. I enjoy his company, his stories and I'm glad I get to share him with you all.

  • Robert Dobell (Retired USAF Master Sgt, Retired Tucson Police Detective)
    2025/08/06

    Send us a text

Robert grew up in Upstate New York, knew he was not going to college, and left for Air Force bootcamp shortly after graduating high school. Initially he was in logistics/ supply, but cross trained a few years later and began flying in C130's, gathering battlefield intel for boots on the ground!

At 38, he retired and decided to go into law enforcement. After several ride alongs with family in Las Vegas and one with Pima county, he knew that was his next adventure.

In 2000, he finished the police academy and trained in Operations Division East, then got assigned to Midtown (my second-most favorite division in the city). In 2008, he promoted to Detective and was assigned to some of the toughest units in Criminal Investigations, Child Abuse and Adult Sexual Assault. He finished his 25 year career in Team Detectives...

I'm glad he agreed to be on the show a whole week and half after retiring. And I'm excited to share him with you all.

Steve grew up in Tucson and graduated from Catalina HS before heading to Northern Arizona University. After graduating, he worked as a Fraud Investigator for Chase Bank before getting picked up by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1998. After graduating the academy in Quantico, he was assigned to the San Francisco Field office.

We had a limited time to sit and chat, so Steve is already on the calendar to come back and share more exploits. Be sure to tune in and catch his 20+ year career.

  • Jim Brown (Warrensville Heights Detective Lt; Hudson, OH Chief of Police; Phoenix, AZ Asst. Chief Transit Public Safety; Marana, AZ Police Background Investigator
    2025/07/23

    Send us a text

Jim's inspiration into law enforcement began when local police and fire were called to his Grandparent's home in Warrensville Heights, OH. Years later, he went on to ride with the same officer who responded that fateful day, while he served as a reserve officer until he was old enough apply.

Hired in 1977, his career began and he never looked back. Because he was able to accomplish so much (Motors, SWAT, detective/investigations) we just scratched the surface of his careering this episode. I've already got him in the books to come back two Saturdays in August.

His book, "Suburban Policing; Cleveland Style" is a memoir detailing the more extraordinary scenes and incidents he witnessed over his career. It's available on Amazon.com, and Kindle.

Let's give him a warm welcome and please...enjoy the show!

  • Catherine Petropoulos (Retired Pima County Sheriff's Department- Corrections, Deputy and Civilian Admin)
    2025/07/16

    Send us a text

Catherine's Father was on the Sheriff's Department which inspired her to begin her career at 18! She started in the jail and promoted to Deputy as soon as she turned 21.

Her experiences, much like all first responders and corrections officers, are on the fringe of what "Normal" folks could imagine. The shenanigans begin as she starts her career on the streets.

I'm grateful to her, as I am with all my guests, that she overcame her nerves and agreed to be on the show. Give her a listen but more importantly, welcome her to The Squad and show her some love!!!

  • Keith "Croc" McCrocklin (Retired Tucson Police Officer)

Keith grew up running from the law, getting in trouble, running off to Bible College only to find himself working in Juvenile Probation which led to his career at the Tucson Police Department.

He worked Operations Division East, holding the rank of Lead Police Officer for many years... But if you have been listening for any length of time you'll know that this job weighs on each officer and carries a heavy toll. It can be a physical toll, mental, and many times it is both.

Keith made it out to the other side, but not without some scars. I'm so happy he agreed to share his stories, everyone I know should be creating a permanent legacy. It's introspective and therapeutic.

Give him a warm, Choir Practice, welcome and enjoy this episode.

  • Choir Practice Squad Member Tribute (Retired Pima County Deputy Matt Lynn)

I've been following Matt's medical updates on FB, thanks to his wife, and I wanted him to know he is on my mind. Please, if you believe in God, or whatever your belief system, send good thoughts and prayers Matt's way!!! Since it is a holiday week, I thought there was no better way to lift up a brother than to air his episode again...

    Episode 50-

"Here's an interview that I've wanted to do for a long time! Matt and I met when he walked in the door, but I didn't want to let him leave until he felt he had shared all the stories he could think of. This episode is just one of many that reaffirm my mission with the podcast and why I have such urgency in catching up with some of my guests.

Matt had a phenomenal career, and his candid conversation about his battles with Type 1 diabetes, Cancer and PTSD quickly made this episode a favorite of mine.

I think you all are going to enjoy it and he will become a Squad Favorite for you as well. Check him out, join us Facebook and Instagram (CP_SFAF) and please... weigh in and share your feedback. Please give the warmest Choir Practice Squad welcome to Matt Lynn."

Thank you all and be safe out there!
