  • Episode 5.5 (Spoilers): Our Suriel Squad
    2025/06/11

In this spoiler-packed breakdown of chapters 14–16 of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Ariel and Corryn ask the important questions: Would Feyre have fallen for Tamlin if the Suriel had kept his mouth shut? Who exactly is the “Dark Mother”? And why doesn’t this spooky all-knowing fae just explain the damn curse if he’s spilling the tea anyway???

This week, we’re deep-diving into the Suriel’s annoyingly vague prophetic energy, reevaluating Tamlin’s every move now that we know he’s playing dumb, and realizing that Ariel might just be the Suriel to Corryn’s Feyre. We also revisit an incredible Gwyn/Tamlin theory, discuss the King of Hybern’s early breadcrumb trail, and make a heartfelt plea to bring Alis back in the redemption arc we’re manifesting for Tamlin.

Plus: We’re officially calling all spoiler friends the Suriel Squad. BYO cloak and tea.

Whether you're here for cursed romance, deep lore, or glamour magic: you’re welcome and we’re sorry.

  • Episode 5 (Spoiler-Free): The Suriel’s Throuple
    2025/06/11

In this spoiler-packed breakdown of chapters 14-16 of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Ariel and Corryn officially induct the Suriel into the queer horror icon hall of fame. He’s serving, he’s spilling, and he’s definitely in a throuple with the Babadook and Pennywise (at least according to the rumors that Ariel’s spreading).

We break down Lucien’s chaotic motivations for helping Feyre trap the Suriel (was it kindness, recklessness, or just drunk fae meddling?) and get into just how eerily descriptive the Suriel’s intro is. Plus, we finally get to a major lore drop: Tamlin is the High Lord of the Spring Court, and the phrase “Stay with the High Lord” suddenly feels… crucial.

We also zoom out to talk big-picture worldbuilding, including the King of Hybern’s long-game villainy, and why the blight might be the smaller picture compared to his plans. And of course, we celebrate the political power of gossip with a shoutout to our girl Alis, because women gabbing is never just small talk.

Whether you’re here for queer Suriel headcanons, the flirtation, or the deep lore: you’re welcome and we’re sorry.

  • Episode 4 (Spoilers): A Fae Physics Fiasco
    2025/06/04

In this spoiler-packed breakdown of chapters 11-13 of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Ariel and Corryn are back to dissect Tamlin’s cursed love language, Lucien’s suspiciously helpful behavior, and Feyre’s slow shift from skeptic to maybe-sorta-softening.

We dig into how Tamlin’s curse-breaking strategy seems to hinge on doing as little as possible and break down the confusing physics behind Tamlin’s ripped shirt post-Bogge hunting (why are his clothes ripped if he killed it while in wolf form?!?!) Also, what’s up with his “you’re not the human I expected” line?

Elsewhere in the Spring Court: Corryn and Ariel confuses The Mountain with Ramiel, Ariel confesses to her spoiler tendencies, and Feyre starts clocking red flags she’ll later ignore (we’ve all been there girl). We also unpack why Lucien helps Feyre figure out how to trap the Suriel, whether Tamlin’s trying to “fix” her to distract himself from his own mess, and how miscommunications abounds.

Whether you’re here for cursed love tropes or just trying to figure out how Tamlin can go from a wolf to a ripped-shirt Fae (seriously what is up with that shirt??): you’re welcome and we’re sorry.

  • Episode 4 (Spoiler-Free): Papa Can You Hear Me? …Hello? Papa???
    2025/06/04

In this spoiler-free breakdown of chapters 11-13 of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Ariel and Corryn follow Feyre through her post-vow identity crisis and into a world of secrets she’s just starting to crack.

With her vow to her mother fulfilled, she’s officially a 19-year-old retiree and the crushing weight of having no purpose is starting to set in. Meanwhile, the boys are whispering in corners like gossip queens and Feyre is not here for being left out, because as we all know: secrets secrets are no fun unless Feyre is a part of one.

Plus: We learn what “Papa Archeron” is really doing in the Spring Court, get into the surprisingly helpful (and mildly terrifying) magical map lesson that teaches Feyre the history of Prythian, and discover that our girl may be getting hooked on Fae phonics.

Whether you’re here for the lore, the mess, or just happy Feyre finally may become a book girlie: you’re welcome and we’re sorry.

  • Episode 3 (Spoilers): The First Rule of the Spring Court Is… Don’t Talk About the Curse
    2025/05/28

In this spoiler-packed breakdown of chapters 7–10 of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Ariel and Corryn follow Feyre into the Spring Court and things are already… weird.

We break down the uncomfortable vibes of Feyre’s first dinners with Tamlin and Lucien, unpack how Lucien’s sarcasm hits different on a reread, and analyze Tamlin’s failed attempts at charm (plus that massive superiority complex).

We also explore the stories that inspired ACOTAR—from Beauty and the Beast to Tam Lin to the tale of Hades and Persephone—and how Sarah J Maas plays with genre. Shocker: Ariel is loving the horror elements.

Plus: We dive into theories about Tamlin’s potential redemption arc, and whether a secret child might be part of it.

Whether you’re here for the lore or just here to throw shade at Tamlin with us: you’re welcome and we’re sorry.

  • Episode 3 (Spoiler-Free): Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Blight?
    2025/05/28

In this spoiler-free episode of Cauldron Save Us, besties Ariel and Corryn are diving into Chapters 7–10 of A Court of Thorns and Roses, and things are getting masked, mysterious, and maybe even a little monstrous.

We’re officially introduced to Tamlin (TamTam, if you’re nasty) and break down the shifting dynamics between Feyre, Lucien, and the eternal spring lands our girl is being held hostage in. From dinner table awkwardness to sassy banter and the politics of who can and can’t leave the manor, the vibes are off—but we’re here for it?

We talk blight, banter, and beauty, specifically the mysterious force draining fae magic (and gluing masks to faces), the horror of the Bogge, and Feyre’s slow shift out of survival mode as she starts to imagine a life beyond just getting by.

Plus: Ariel shares a personal moment around mental health representation in romantasy, we learn more about fae-human power dynamics, and the enemies-to-lovers energy is officially simmering.

Whether you’re new to ACOTAR or on your 10th reread: you’re welcome and we’re sorry.

  • Episode 2 (Spoilers): A (Possible?) Case for Tamlin
    2025/05/21

In this spoiler-packed breakdown of chapters 4–6 of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Ariel and Corryn return with fresh eyes, full hearts, and zero chill. With the curse in full context, we revisit Feyre’s capture, Tamlin’s choices, and all the early foreshadowing that hits so much harder the second time around.

Was the Spring Court ever truly a sanctuary, or just a prettier kind of prison? Is Tamlin a tragic product of his trauma, or just another controlling toxic fae man with a savior complex? And did Sarah J. Maas plant the seeds of Nesta’s arc this early? (Spoiler: probably)

We also get into mating bond conspiracy theories, debate Lucien’s true motivations, and—against our better judgment—find ourselves feeling... a little bad for Tamlin? Sort of? Maybe?

Grab your annotated copy, because this is the one where everything changes.

Whether you’re deep in your reread spiral or just here for the catharsis: you’re welcome and we’re sorry.
