Nancy's mother, Marcene Powell, was a trailblazer in her own time. She opened the very first real estate brokerage in Lincolnton in 1992 and was one of just a few women period that was a business owner in LC.

An amazing trend that can be found in Real Estate in 2022 is the amount of women in real estate that are very successful and taking on leadership positions. After decades of only men being in these roles, Women are now making up the majority in these positions. Women now make up 67% of realtors nationwide. This trend makes sense as women empowerment is an important part of our society in the 21st century and because real estate offers women the opportunity for economic empowerment and career advancement
