Boundaries: Part 1 - Defining Boundaries & Debunking the Misconceptions That Keep You From Setting Them

  • サマリー

  • In this week's episode, I'm talking all about boundaries - what they are, what they aren't, and why they matter. Many of us struggle with boundaries and have misconceptions about what healthy boundaries look like. I'll share a personal story that showed me how rewarding setting a boundary can be (even if it's the hardest thing you do) as well as my unique definition of boundaries.

Boundaries are not walls meant to keep others out. They are more like a road map - helping others to navigate our unique landscape. Boundaries allow connection while still protecting your physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Common misconceptions about boundaries lead many of us to avoid setting them at all. I'll clear up some of those myths and parts 2 (and maybe even 3) will dive into how to recognize what boundaries you need to set, how to communicate them, and how to reinforce them.

Don't miss this multi-part series on one of the most protective and rewarding self-care skills you can embrace.
