このコンテンツについて
Do you feel overlooked? Do you think you're not worthy? Do you feel your unable to share your story as it pertains to mental health because no one would understand or it’s just too taboo?
There is no right or wrong answer. There is no perfect answer. It is your individual answer, and I am here to be a catalyst to inspire action that will lead to change and break down those barriers for all! I am Jessica Dalby, and I am here to fuse the conversations between mental health and the power of music.
Behind the mic with Jess is me welcoming you in my world. Sharing my story of the good, the bad, the ugly, the happy, perseverance, faith, integrity, and resilience with you. Taking you on a journey through my life with belief that you will understand anything is possible. It is not easy, but it is simple. When you feel no one believes in you? I want you to remember Jessica Dalby believes in you. This podcast believes in you!
So, in today’s first monologue episode you get to go behind the mic with Jess. You get to learn and know a little more about me your host Jessica Dalby and her struggles with mental health. Her life as an entrepreneur, suffering loss personally and professionally, making huge changes in her life, persevering against all odds, and when the chips were stacked against her and she was knocked down, she rose back up like the phoenix bird.
I say the phoenix bird, because as most Greek mythology has taught us the phoenix is revived or on the other hand born again. History says it can be seen as dying in flames, combusting, and being born again. In my opinion, I equate myself to the phoenix bird because I rose from the pain, stigma, negativity around me, and became a better version of myself and owning my worthiness of all good things. Remember it isn’t easy. Every day is a new struggle, but it is also a new day to persevere and shine against all odds.
It wasn't shortly after launching the initial Plan D trailer that I was contacted by the producer of the Barbara Corcoran Business Unusual Podcast show. All I did was take a leap of faith and left a question on her 888 number never expecting to be contacted, but there I was looking at a woman I admired not due to fame or stature but based on her perseverance professionally, educationally, personally, financially, and so much more. Words couldn't describe how I felt.
It took me 43 years of life to understand that I am more. I am worthy. This is Plan D with Jessica Dalby. I'm here to make change and break down barriers. I am here to make that known one step at a time. I'm simply Jess and there's no shame in the mental health game.
