In this episode, we welcome Assistant Chief of Police of Sweetwater and gang expert Aquiles Carmona to give us a breakdown of how gang violence operates and organizes.

Aquiles Carmona, a United States Navy Veteran was born in Havana, Cuba before migrating to the United States in 1970. He began his Law Enforcement career with The City of Miami Police Department in 1990, as a Police Officer, and served with the Department for 25 years. During his time there he attended numerous Criminal Investigation Courses acquiring Certifications in the field. While assigned to different investigative and high-profile units, he worked closely with Federal, State, and other Local Municipalities in a detached capacity. During his tenure as an Investigator, he led numerous long-term criminal investigations / public corruption cases, and testified as a Subject Matter Expert in both; State and Federal trials, resulting in positive criminal prosecution of the defendants and Organized Criminal Enterprises involved. In 2014, before retiring with The City of Miami Police Department, Assistant Chief Carmona received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice / Management.
