  • 15. North & Middle Sugarloaf with Diana's Bath
    2025/02/26

Join us today as we explore not one, but two beautiful trails – North and Middle Sugarloaf! It’s a 2-for-1 special on the 52 With a View list, and these peaks definitely live up to the hype. Even on a cloudy morning, the views were breathtaking (prove that Mother Nature doesn't always need to be sunny to impress!). We’ll dive into all the trail details, from glacier boulders to a wooden staircase that feels straight out of a fairytale, plus a beautiful stream that's perfect for a cold plunge.

After conquering these family-friendly peaks, we made our way to the stunning Diana's Bath. Then, it was off to one of my all-time favorite breweries, Tuckerman’s Brewery in Conway, NH, for a well-earned post-hike pint. Be sure to check out Tuckerman's website and Instagram for all the event details and their mouth-watering menu.

Also, don’t forget to follow us on Instagram at Around New England Hiking where we’ve posted all the gorgeous photos from this fall adventure.

  • 14. Vermont Winter weekend part 3 Stowe
    2025/02/19

In this episode we talk about a short hike we enjoyed close to the hotel. Thanks to All Trails app for helping us find a good hike!

We head to Girakofi for breakfast and coffee.

Then the Alchemist, a must try for any beer fan.

We enjoyed walking around Stowe and checking out some shops. Then it was time to hit the road.

We could not leave Vermont without stopping at Ben & Jerry's.

And we wanted to re-visit The Vermont Beer Collective. We were not hungry this time, but will have to save room to eat at the Reservoir in Waterbury, VT.

The gluten free beer I mentioned is: The Lucky Pigeon. My favorite I tried was Rock Dove.

Please check out all the pictures on our Instagram: Around New England Hiking.

  • 10. Gile Mountain & Quechee Gorge with a stop at the Vermont Country Store
    2025/01/29

This week, we’re off to the picturesque state of Vermont. I’ll do my best to keep the Noah Kahan references to a minimum—though, I mean, it was Stick Season, so no promises!

We kick things off by chatting about Gile Mountain in Norwich, VT. Mike dug up some cool info on the stairs along the trail, built by the Upper Valley Trails Alliance. You’ve got to check out their website, complete with pictures of these impressive stairs going up—mystery solved! But let’s be real, the breathtaking views of Killington from the top really steal the spotlight.

Next, we took a quick detour to Quechee Gorge. Another fantastic, family-friendly hike that’s perfect for anyone in the area. And while you’re in the neighborhood, if you’re into owls or birds in general, the VINS Center is definitely worth a stop!

After the hikes, it was time to grab some Heady Topper from the local store and head over to the Vermont Country Store. Because let’s face it, a trip to Vermont wouldn’t be complete without a little shopping spree! Thanks for listening!
