  • Episode 25: Transfer Portal Departures
    2025/04/11
On today's edition of 7th Corner, we go over the surge of departures from Huskies that have entered the transfer portal, and talk more about this emerging phenomenon in college sports and talk about its impact specifically on college hockey and how it will have a huge impact moving forward for teams looking for high end talent to fill the spots on their roster. We talk about how some of the losses via the portal including Ben Poitras, Seth Constance, and Billy Norcross will leave the team with a deficit of talent and what some of those players meant to the team in their short time here. We also talk about the goaltending situation and how the addition of Matthew DelloRusso signals that the team has something else up its sleeve and is looking for a premium goalie after the departure of Cameron Whitehead.

We also talk about the gameplay of Ryan McGuire and how his involvement with the offensive zone face-offs and his empty netter goal at the end was clutch in ensuring that BC would never come back and win the game. 2025/03/05
On today's all new edition of 7th Corner, we recap the Huskies last two home at home series against BU and UConn, where they were only able to come away with 1 victory in those games against BU at Agganis 5-1. I also talk about a critical game in that series against the Terriers at Matthews where I bore witness to Coach Keefe blowing a gasket against the refs after BU scored their first goal of the game, and another subsequent altercation that took place in the postgame handshake line where Coach Keefe received a game misconduct for his outburst towards one of the game officials. I give you my reaction to that outburst as I saw it unfold live. We also take a look ahead to Northeastern's final games of the season including a road game against Merrimack on Thursday, and closing out the regular season at Matthews on Saturday against Providence on Senior Night in one of the final games being held at Matthews Arena.

I talk about how the players on this list mirror the ones on my personal favorite Husky players of all time list including Adam Gaudette, Dylan Sikura, and Zach Aston-Reese. I also give some valuable stats on all of the players and talk about how these mind-boggling stats will still be appreciated many years down the road. I also include some honorable mentions and ones from my personal list of players who may not have gotten a lot of ice time, but contributed greatly just simply by wearing a Huskies uniform.

We recap the whole matchup against the Eagles and a closer look at what went wrong from the sudden drought to scoring, to Whitehead's inability to get it done, and further look at whether the Huskies should make a change in goaltending to close out the year.
