57. Patience, Publishing, and PowerBitches, with Rachel Hills

  • サマリー

  • Have a dream to share your Voice by writing and publishing a book? Wonder how to create space through a membership that makes a true impact on your niche?

Today on ARRIVED., I chat with an old friend from my London days, Rachel Hills, who has done both. Rachel gets real about the behind-the-scenes of penning a non-fiction book for one of the biggest publishing houses in the world; why the Voice of that book was born from her own sexual insecurity in her mid-twenties; how she flipped the traditional networking model on its head in creating her feminist networking community, PowerBitches Gather; the new challenges Rachel faced when moving from freelance journalism to running a startup; and how to rethink our mindset around charging for our professional contributions.

Rachel is a feminist writer, producer, entrepreneur, and creator based in Brooklyn, New York. She is the author of The Sex Myth: The Gap Between Our Fantasies and Reality (Simon & Schuster); the founder of Powerbitches Gather, a high-touch peer support network for powerful progressive womxn; and Protagonistic, a feminist strategic communications consultancy.

Rachel’s work has been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Cosmopolitan, The Guardian, The Atlantic, Vogue, Buzzfeed, The Cut, and many more. She has spoken at more than 20 colleges and universities across the United States, delivered two popular TEDx talks, and has keynoted at Harvard Sex Week and the Sydney Opera House.
