  • Bible Talk with Sister Deb: Hell Breaking Loose: A Biblical Warning
    2025/06/11

    Send us a text

What happens when the bottomless pit opens and demonic forces are unleashed on earth? Sister Deb takes listeners on a sobering journey through Revelation 9, examining the fifth and sixth trumpet judgments that will occur during the Great Tribulation.

With unflinching clarity, Sister Deb unpacks the terrifying imagery of locust-like creatures with human faces, women's hair, and lion's teeth—beings armed with scorpion stings that will torment humanity for five months. Even more disturbing, during this period people will "seek death and not find it," as even suicide becomes impossible. The sixth trumpet judgment follows with the release of an army that kills one-third of mankind—potentially billions of people in today's population terms.

Throughout this powerful teaching, Sister Deb addresses three vital questions: Why would God reveal these horrifying future events? What purpose do these warnings serve? And most importantly, how can anyone escape this coming judgment?

"I believe he wants us to read this and know it because he wants us who know the truth to right now start sharing the gospel with the lost," she explains, emphasizing the urgent need for believers to warn others before it's too late.

The episode closes with a piercing question from Hebrews 2:3—"How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?"—followed by Sister Deb's heartfelt prayer for listeners to recognize their need for salvation through Jesus Christ. The message serves as both stark warning and compassionate invitation to find refuge before these prophesied events unfold.

Don't miss this crucial examination of biblical prophecy that cuts through comfortable theology to present the urgent reality of coming judgment and the salvation freely offered through Christ.

  • 6-8-25 CCOG Sunday Morning Service Recovering What's Lost: Finding Value in Dark Places
    2025/06/09

    Send us a text

Have you ever found yourself in a dark place, covered in the mud and dirt of poor decisions, wondering if you could ever be restored to your former glory? In this powerful message from Cavewood Church of God, we journey through the parable of the lost coin from Luke 15, uncovering profound truths about God's relentless pursuit of what belongs to Him.

Unlike the lost sheep or the prodigal son, the lost coin had no awareness of its misplaced condition—much like many who sit in church pews today, participating in worship while spiritually disconnected without even realizing it. The missing coin was part of a woman's engagement headdress, symbolizing commitment and belonging. When one piece went missing, all attention focused on the absence rather than the nine remaining coins. This mirrors our own experience; we notice what's gone rather than what remains.

The sermon reveals three powerful steps in the recovery process: First, the woman lit a candle, bringing light to darkness—just as Jesus illuminates our darkest situations. Second, she swept the house, removing dirt and debris—representing how we must clean out things from our lives that bury our true purpose. Finally, she searched diligently, getting down on hands and knees if necessary, not caring about appearances but determined to find what was lost. Sometimes recovery isn't pretty, but the value of what's being sought makes the effort worthwhile.

Perhaps most striking is that while the woman's friends weren't part of the search party, they were invited to the celebration afterward. How many of us show up only for celebrations but avoid the messy work of restoration? God sees value in us even in our worst condition. No matter how far you've wandered or how much dirt covers you, your worth has never diminished in His eyes. He specializes in recovery and restoration—it's the very heart of His mission.

Have you given up on something God is still searching for? Join us at Cavewood Church of God where the fire still burns on the altar and restoration awaits.

  • Bible Talk with Sister Deb: Taming the Untamable: The Power of Our Words
    2025/06/06

    Send us a text

Have you ever considered the immense power contained in your everyday words? Sister Deb Osborne tackles the challenging subject of taming our tongues in this thought-provoking episode that will transform how you view your daily conversations.

Drawing from James 3, Sister Deb reveals the paradox that humans have successfully tamed ferocious lions, bears, and elephants, yet struggle mightily with controlling our "two-inch slab of trouble" – our tongues. With vivid imagery and scriptural wisdom, she illustrates how our words can function as weapons of mass destruction or tools for healing and encouragement.

What makes this episode particularly compelling is Sister Deb's raw vulnerability. She courageously shares her own "hamburger meltdown" story – a moment when she spoke harshly to a restaurant owner over a disappointing meal, followed by her persistent efforts to make amends after feeling convicted. This authentic glimpse into her personal struggle reminds us that taming the tongue is an ongoing journey for every believer.

The practical wisdom offered is immediately applicable: before speaking, ask yourself if what you're about to say is true, helpful, inspiring, necessary, and kind. Sister Deb emphasizes that transforming our speech begins with transforming our hearts, as Jesus taught that "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." Through Christ's strength, we can experience the heart change needed to speak words that build up rather than tear down.

Whether you struggle with gossip, reactionary outbursts, or simply using words carelessly, this episode offers biblical guidance for bringing your speech under the lordship of Christ. Join Sister Deb in discovering how our words can reflect the light of Christ to everyone around us. Listen now and begin transforming your conversations today!
