#206 - Tressi Mitchell & Brooklyn Disch

  • サマリー

  • This week I have two guests, Tressi and Brooklyn Disch. Brooklyn you may know has Brooklyn Disch who is a misophonia coach and has all kinds of resources on her website (link below). Tressi has worked with Brooklyn and has also published a book which is a fictionalization of many of her experiences living with misophonia. Both guests discuss the challenges they faced growing up, the lack of understanding and resources available, and how they eventually connected through a shared Facebook group. They talk about misophonia as not a defect but a trait that can be managed through various strategies, including reprogramming the mind and fostering connections with others who share similar experiences. Both of them have seen their misophonia greatly, greatly reduced. We touch on the skepticism surrounding alternative therapies. They discuss the role of meditation, the impact of childhood experiences, and the importance of understanding and advocating for misophonia as a distinct condition.
