103. Balancing the Energy of Yang with Yin with Yoga Instructor, Val Aerni

  • サマリー

  • Val Aerni, is a E-RYT 200 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 200 hour) through Yoga Alliance with additional training in yin yoga, prenatal yoga, Yoga Mindset Coaching, yoga nidra, trauma-informed yoga, and health coaching. Val also holds a M.Ed. in Curriculum in Instruction from the University of Montana. Outside of teaching, Val loves to spend time with her family playing in the woods.

Val shares: "I am a mom, a partner, and a yogi.  I love everything related to the outdoors, eating well, connecting with friends, and growing as a parent. Yoga is a practice that I come back to daily to help manage anxiety and life's ebbs and flows.
Some days I focus on my breathing or pranayama, other times I meditate. Sometimes I build heat with vinyasa or powerful movements, or I'll settle into stillness with yin or deep stretching. Sometimes I do it all. Regardless of HOW I practice, yoga always shifts my energy and grounds me back to self. It gives me strength, stamina, a sense of purpose, and balance. This is the power of yoga that I love to share with others! I welcome you to join me in group classes, private sessions, or workshops."

Highlights from this conversation with Val include:

    • What is Yin Yoga? The physical goal of getting into a stretch and staying in the sensation, cultivating the ability to BE with.
    • Balancing the energy of DO'ing (yang) with yin, the ability to step away from the DO'ing and connecting to the feeling/BEing with what is.
    • How yin can help you settle into stillness, discomfort and awareness of what IS happening in the present moment.
    • Resistance is the pose can be an opportuinty to BE with or continue resisting, we always have the choice.
    • Yin as a tool for personal empowerment of awareness of what is happening internally.
    • Integrating Yin yoga with Internal Family Systems work.
    • And more...
