Mark Bowden is an author who specializes in body language and human behavior. He is known for his pioneering work in nonverbal analysis of human behavior, particularly in influence and persuasion.  His GesturePlane System, which involves using open palm hand gestures on the "TruthPlane" to establish trust and credibility, is a notable contribution to the field. Bowden's approach is influenced by evolutionary psychology, behavioral psychology, and embodied cognition.   

He is also the President of The National Communication Coach Association of Canada and his techniques have been utilized by influential figures, including Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
