あらすじ・解説
A refreshing blast from the past...
Listeners who can identify with people, places, and events from the '90s will feel a bit nostalgic as they experience the story. Some of the characters and situations seem to parallel events of today, yet 90 percent of this novel was written 30 years ago!
A fictional US President, Benjamin J. Leck, and his wife, Alexis, the vice president, dutifully serve the country they love. They enter politics after the young and visionary "Benny" successfully built a billion-dollar electric car manufacturing corporation, and his wife "Lexi" managed a profitable communications business.
"Let’s fix this” is their mantra. They strive to improve many issues that never seem to get resolved, such as gun violence, out-of-control government spending, and restricted voting rights, to name a few. President and Vice President Leck accomplish much, though their faces are unrecognized. They choose to keep their true appearance from the public, wearing a disguise when in the community or on TV. They will learn that this approach has its advantages and disadvantages.
Can a president so filled with integrity survive two full terms with some powerful enemies who want nothing more than to maintain the "status quo"? Despite his anonymity, can the president protect himself and his family?
