Building an empathy with Delilah from the beginning, Forsyth uses her softer tones of voice to convey the kitty's initial confusion and loneliness. Soon Delilah's true core of inner strength and determination begin to show as Forsyth adds feelings of assuredness and positive tones to Delilah's voice.
