Overall, the traffic forecast for the week of Monday, 18 August 2025, is one of continued high volume and potential disruption.
Following the national public holiday on Friday, 15 August, and the subsequent busy weekend, a significant number of people will be returning to urban areas, particularly from coastal and leisure destinations.
The DGT has advised of heavy return traffic on main arteries. In addition, ongoing forest fires in Galicia and Castile and León are causing specific road closures and diversions. Local fiestas and sporting events will also contribute to localised delays in various regions across the country.
