[EP 25-015] Fires have engulfed areas of California, and there is an element of this that is beyond the control of anybody. Fire has no politic, as nature doesn’t. But there are things that man can do to improve his circumstances on this beautiful orb. We craft our environment, no different than any other organism. Ants build their underground cities, as the bird builds its nest. We try to make our environments fit our needs. Such is nature. Such is as God intended it. And like with all creatures on the planet, things beyond our control disrupt our lives. Natural disasters we call them. Hurricanes, tornadoes, avalanche, hailstorm, ice storm, cold wave, blizzards, heat waves, solar flares, volcanic eruptions, impact events, drought, tsunami, thunderstorm, cyclone, flood, flashflood, landslide, earthquake, killer fog, sinkhole We have no control over most of these. We predict some of them, warn against others, and try to protect against even more. There is planning for almost all of these natural disasters. We have warning systems for avalanches, tornadoes, tsunamis, and so on. And while there is no 100% way to stop these disasters, we do our best. Some, like hurricanes allow us lots of notice, while others we get very little. So we plan. Most organisms in nature can only react to disaster. We have the ability to think through things and plan. And with each disaster, we refine the system to save as many lives as possible.
