At the peaceful Modest Means Farms, five geldings make their home: Scout, the wise old horse; Buck, a once-great racehorse with a hurting heart; and three playful ponies—Strawberry, Gumdrop, and the mischievous Bandit. The ponies love to gather around Scout in the mornings to hear stories of bravery and trust. But one morning, they notice Buck standing alone by the fence. The ponies are afraid of his size and strength and they wonder why he never joins them. Through Scout’s gentle wisdom, the ponies learn that Buck’s past was filled with hardship and broken trust.
